I took 26 pupils to Blackpool Sports Centre on Wednesday 20th January 2016, between 6pm and 8:30pm. The year 5 pupils had previously qualified in the local heats, despite the absence of Year 6, who were on their residential at Tower Wood.
12 School out of approximately 60 qualified, so to even get this far was a massive achievement. Within the regional final, the pupils performed extremely well, with many children achieving their personal bests. The team gained 522 points overall, meaning that they finished second in the final standings. This was a fantastic result and I am extremely proud of all the children involved.
Congratulations to Garstang St Thomas’, who won the competition with a massive 586 points, progressing to the county final in February. We wish them all the best in the next round.
Thanks to all the parent who supported us with lifts and to those who stayed to cheer on the team. We really appreciate your support.
Mr Marshall
