Autumn Term Newsletter 2020 21 New
Our topic this term is ‘From Garstang to the Kalahari’.
This term will have a Geography focus. We will be finding out about our local area and researching the physical and human features of Garstang. We will improve our map skills by using globes, atlases, aerial photographs and digital maps. After half term, we will be exploring the Kalahari Desert using our English text of ‘Meerkat Mail’. We will then be able to use everything we have learnt to compare and contrast these two areas of the world.
In Science we will be learning about habitats and why different animals live in different places. We will spend lots of time exploring our school grounds to see who or what lives in it, and why they have chosen areas of our school to live in. We will bring in aspects of our main topic by looking at which animals are local to Garstang, and which are local to the Kalahari.
