Safeguarding is an incredibly important part of our work at GCPS and is central to all we do. All of our staff are trained annually and updated on a regular basis with regard to safeguarding issues.

The Senior Designated Lead for safeguarding in our school is Mrs Stephanie Reeves. The Deputy DSLs are Mr Roger Wilkinson and Mr Andrew Dignan.

If you have concerns then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Operation Encompass

We are participating in Operation Encompass which is a unique Police and Education early intervention safeguarding partnership.

Following a domestic abuse incident attended by Lancashire Police, at which children from our school were present, Lancashire Police will notify us early the next morning and prior to the start of the school day. This enables us to offer support or whatever is needed to any child arriving at school.

Each school has a member of staff (key adult) who is trained to liaise with the police, when required, whilst ensuring support is available to the child. The key adult in our school is Mrs Stephanie Reeves.

We are committed to providing the best possible care and support for all our pupils.

In the meantime, if you would like to speak to someone further about the project or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Reeves via the school office.
