In Topic, we will be exploring the Ancient Egyptians and delving into the past. We will be looking at how they lived and how they shaped history. Our art will be linked to our topic and the children will have the opportunity to work with a range of media. In science, the children will be investigating light, shadows and reflection. We will be thinking about Peter Pan and what we would need to make a good shadow for him. In computing, we will be learning how to stay safe online as well as how to do a safe search. In RE, we will be studying Hinduism and with a particular focus on the question; ‘Who Should We Follow?’ We will be exploring role models within religion as well as within our families, friendship groups and school.

In English, we will be focusing on instructions. We will use Talk for Writing to learn a set of instructions for ‘How to Trap a Stone Giant’. We will use this as the basis for writing our own instructions about a different creature.

In Maths, we will be securing the children’s understanding of place value. We will progress to look at addition and subtraction where the children will need to apply their place value skills. In addition, we will look at multiplication and division, where we will be revising and learning our times tables. The children will use lots of hands on learning and problem solving to develop their understanding.
