Children are expected to do the following in each Key Stage:
Reception
- Daily reading with an adult. Books are changed in school twice a week.
Key Stage 1
- Daily reading with an adult. Books are changed in school twice a week.
- Weekly spelling
- High frequency word cards changed when children know them
- Occasional maths (more in Year 2)
Key Stage 2
- Daily reading, recorded in a reading diary and checked by an adult
- Weekly spelling
- Weekly Diagnostic Maths
- Four independent projects through the year
They should know the following basic maths skills.
