We have been learning all about where our chocolate comes from and have followed its journey from bean to bar. As part of our topic, we did a role play game where we were the different producers along the journey. We discovered just how unfair the system is when the chocolate companies made loads more money than the farmers in Ghana who do a lot of hard work in hot and humid conditions.
After all our hard work, we tasted different types of chocolate to see which we preferred. Out of the Fairtrade and non-Fairtrade chocolate we tried, most of the class preferred the Fairtrade Green and Blacks white chocolate. However, our overall favourite was Tony’s Chocoloney milk chocolate – it was delicious!
